Congratulations to North Cove Elementary's Mrs. Julie Thacker
Mrs. Thacker will represent the teachers of McDowell County and our school in reverence to Governor Pat McCrory's establishment of the North Carolina Governor's Teacher Network. This program encourages teacher's from across the state to develop and share best practices centered around classroom instruction and professional development for fellow teachers.
Out of 1,500 applications, only 450 teachers were selected which included 5 from McDowell County.
Congratulations Mrs. Thacker!

You may also contact McDowell County Health Department at (828) 652-6811. Thanks Kate B. Reynolds Foundation! Our school recently received a grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Foundation to improve and add to our existing playground. Take a look at the work in progress! Crews have been hard at work refurbishing the fall materials for the K-2 Playground. Our K-6 playground also now has a paved pad for basketball, four square, and hopscotch. We are so excited to have these additions and improvements to our school and community!
